"Human Rights Riddim" il nuovo progetto di Mario Lanza che coinvolge Lone Ranger e Carlton Livingston

Il giovane produttore salentino Mario Lanza, in collaborazione con due leggende della musica reggae giamaicana, ha dato vita a una nuova produzione intitolata "Human Rights Riddim". Questo progetto coinvolge Lone Ranger, deejay innovativo e creativo degli anni '70 e '80, con il brano "Forward Ever", e Carlton Livingston, una delle voci più iconiche del reggae, con "Any Day". 

Le tracce, caratterizzate da conscious lyrics, veicolano un messaggio di resilienza e gratitudine quotidiana, temi ricorrenti nei testi socialmente impegnati dei due artisti. L'arrangiamento strumentale, in puro stile stepper, è stato realizzato in collaborazione con "Papa Leu", una figura di spicco nella scena reggae italiana. Il mixaggio e la masterizzazione sono stati eseguiti presso l'Adriatic Sound Studio, garantendo una qualità sonora impeccabile. 

"Human Rights Riddim" non solo mette in evidenza la dedizione di Mario Lanza per il reggae, ma consolida anche il forte legame tra il Salento e la Giamaica. Questo legame, alimentato sin dagli anni '90 grazie ai pionieri Sud Sound System, trova in questa produzione una nuova espressione. Attraverso la sua etichetta "South Rockers Records", attiva dal 2023, Lanza continua a promuovere i valori di uguaglianza e rispetto che sono alla base della cultura reggae.

   

The young producer from Salento, Mario Lanza, has created a new extraordinary production titled "Human Rights Riddim" together with two legendary Jamaican reggae singers. Lone Ranger, considered one of the most creative and innovative deejays of the '70s and '80s, contributes with "Forward Ever", and Carlton Livingston, one of the longest-standing voices in reggae, adds "Any Day". 

The conscious lyrics of these two singles encourage the listener to never give up and to be grateful every day for what life offers; a message that has always been present in their socially engaged lyrics. The instrumental in stepper style was arranged together with "Papa Leu", one of the most representative musicians of the Italian reggae scene; it was subsequently mixed and mastered at the Adriatic Sound Studio. 

"Human Rights Riddim" consolidates the strong bond between Salento and Jamaica, a bond that has been nurtured since the '90s thanks to the pioneers Sud Sound System. With this new production, Mario Lanza, together with his label "South Rockers Records", active since 2023, once again highlights his passion for reggae music and its messages of equality and respect.

Train To Roots: il nuovo singolo "Gaza" come simbolo di protesta e solidarietà

I Train To Roots, storica band reggae sarda, presentano il singolo "Gaza", anteprima del loro ottavo album. Il brano nasce dall'urgenza di prendere una posizione netta contro il massacro di civili in corso nella Striscia di Gaza, e più in generale, contro le ingiustizie subite dal popolo palestinese. 

Il testo del brano si ispira a una poesia di Peppino Mereu, intitolata "Nanneddu Meu", pubblicata verso la fine dell'Ottocento. Nella poesia originale, Mereu denuncia la miseria e l'oppressione subita dalle classi sociali più basse della Sardegna dell'epoca. Nel singolo dei Train To Roots, Nanneddu diventa Muhammeddu e il contesto di miseria si sposta nella Palestina contemporanea, sottolineando come, a più di cento anni dalla pubblicazione della poesia, i versi di Mereu possano ancora rispecchiare le condizioni di oppressione di un altro popolo. 

Registrato in modalità analogica presso il Roble Factory Studio, "Gaza" integra sonorità elettroniche con l'uso di synth analogici e un drum pattern urban. Questa combinazione di elementi crea un sound potente e contemporaneo che arricchisce il messaggio di denuncia sociale del brano. "Gaza" segna anche l'inizio della collaborazione tra i Train To Roots e la storica etichetta napoletana Phonotype, la prima etichetta discografica in Italia e una delle prime al mondo, con oltre 100 anni di storia musicale. Nicola Tranquillo, socio della Phonotype, ha dichiarato: “Napoli non si lascia intimidire e vuole dimostrare il suo rifiuto nei confronti del silenzio di fronte a quanto accade in Palestina. Abituati all’incontro, all’accoglienza, al dialogo, siamo convinti che il mare unisca, e anche per questo vogliamo affidare all’incontro tra Napoli e il reggae made in Sardegna dei Train To Roots il nostro messaggio”. 

"Gaza" è disponibile su tutte le piattaforme digitali e sarà rilasciato anche in formato 7 pollici, accompagnato da un altro singolo della band ska/rock napoletana Bisca. Questa doppia uscita rappresenta non solo un'importante collaborazione musicale, ma anche un atto di solidarietà e protesta contro le ingiustizie che affliggono il popolo palestinese.

Train To Roots, the renowned Sardinian reggae band, have released their new single "Gaza," a preview of their upcoming eighth album. This track arises from the urgent need to take a clear and unambiguous stance against the ongoing massacre of civilians in the Gaza Strip and the broader injustices faced by the Palestinian people. 

The lyrics of "Gaza" are inspired by a poem by Peppino Mereu titled "Nanneddu Meu," published in the late 19th century. In the original poem, Mereu denounces the misery and oppression endured by the lower social classes in Sardinia at that time. In Train To Roots' single, Nanneddu becomes Muhammeddu, and the context of misery shifts to contemporary Palestine, highlighting how, more than a hundred years after the poem's publication, Mereu's verses still resonate with the oppression faced by another people. Recorded in analog mode at the Roble Factory Studio, "Gaza" features electronic sounds with the use of analog synths and an urban drum pattern.

"Gaza" also marks the beginning of Train To Roots' collaboration with the historic Neapolitan label Phonotype, the first record label in Italy and one of the first in the world, with over 100 years of musical heritage. Nicola Tranquillo, a partner of Phonotype, stated, "Naples is not intimidated and wants to show its refusal to remain silent in the face of what is happening in Palestine. Used to meeting, welcoming, and dialoguing, we believe that the sea unites, and for this reason, we want to entrust our message to the meeting between Naples and the reggae made in Sardinia by Train To Roots." 

"Gaza" is available on all digital platforms and will also be released in a 7-inch format, accompanied by another single from the Neapolitan ska/rock band Bisca. This double release represents not only an important musical collaboration but also an act of solidarity and protest against the injustices afflicting the Palestinian people.
