BASTIAMAN A JOURNEY INTO REGGAE MUSIC MADE IN SALENTO

Sebastiano Corvaglia aka Bastiaman is a Songwriter/ Producer/ Arranger and Mix Engineer born on the 15th of June 1990 and raised in a small village of South Salento (Italy). Since he was a toddler he bacame passionately interested learning English language and started studying it by himself. When he was 11 he started studying piano and he stopped few years later as he found out he had a passion for rap music. So he wrote the first lyrics in rhymes whiteout any beat, but the turning point came few years later when he discovered Reggae music's world and Jamaican patois.

As he was a fluent English speaker it was easy for him to learn Jamaican basis and after 2 years of trials, supported by Kiuppo, in 2008 he released his first EP named Away From Babylon. From then he started singing in local dancehalls and keept doing it untill he was 20, when, he buck up into Joseph aka Big Joe, a guy with his same passion and together they formed a band called Black Daggas, blending up Jamaican Reggae and Senegal R&B and they recorded few singles always supported by Kiuppo. From then, they performed on bigger stages until the day they had to disband due to different lifestyles. From here, Bastiaman, driven by his desire to look after his own production, and willing to improve his knowledge and skills as a sound Engineer, went in Turin from 2012 to 2013 to study and graduated in june As soon as he returned home, he got in touch with Raffaele Rizzelli, a young pianist and EDM music producer who wanted to mix Bastiaman english and Simone's local dialect on electronic reggae beats. The trio was called Lion Clan and without waisting any time they released an EP called Stand Up in December of the same year which became very popular within a short period of time.

Alongside this project, Bastiaman was also active as a mixing engineer and backliner in few heavy metal concerts organized by Carlo, voice and frontman of the band Essenza. After they took part in the Apulian Reggae Accademy, the trio started performing on stages across Italy: From Cerebration fest in Padua to Bababoom festival in Fermo untill 2015 when Bastiaman, always driven by his hungers for knowledge of English language, decided to move to London and lived there for a year and a half, meanwhile the trio keept working in a remote way and when.

Bastiaman has returned, they started working on a brand new EP but something has changed. Bastiaman brought back a UK roots style sound and alongside Luis Noise, a dub master and producer form Genoa they gave birth to a 6 track EP called Free Up featuring big reggae artists such as Gialloman. Just a matter of time before the trio had to face another distance problem due to different lifestyles, which resulted in serious difficulties to perform on live stages but just in few rare occasions and that's why Bastiaman, always driven by his will to keep producing music, left the trio to start his own career self producing his music and producing some reggae artists such as Sam D, Systalova and many more.

In 2019 he got in touch with the Unity and Love band and an instant connection with the band's member brought the whole team to work on a single called Dea Musica released on the 1st of May 2020. Bastiaman is still working on their other projects as mixing engineer. Now his solo EP called To The Rescue is gonna hit the road soon with special musicians featuring such as Andrà Giurgola who made guitars and Francesco Coluccia an accordion player from a folk local band called Alla Bua, and with him he produced the track that gives the name to the album.
