As many of you may be aware of, Sbeberz Rasta Radio has ceased all activity since March 1st. No more music, no more features and none of the shows we have been offering for the last 6 plus years and, this has nothing to do with our energy or passion of which we lack none of course.
Through our social media, we have done our best to explain the reasons behind this shut down and have tried to make you all aware of the events that led to the end of our activity.
"A project born out of the passion of many has been undermined to its foundation due to excessive bureaucracy and licensing imposed upon us by a system that cares more about exploiting arts and music rather than nourishing talent and supporting creative ventures.
We are not quitters and we have been fighting hard and with great passion for the last 7 years to get where we are now. Given our spirit and philosophy, we like to see this current situation like a stand by rather than the end of Sbeberz Rasta Radio and, for this reason, we have been working tirelessly and have contributed economically towards this project has much as we could. It’s many of us and many have contributed generously but, unfortunately, this is not enough. We do need your help to make the Lion roar loud again!"
If you have been following and appreciating Rasta Radio, if you had fun listening to us and you felt touched in any way by our shows and selections, you have now the opportunity of sending back some love and support us once again. Our promise is that we will be back stronger than ever with our broadcasts, following festivals and supporting all artists and the music we love. Come molti di voi avranno notato, dal primo di marzo Sbeberz Rasta Radio è off air completamente. Non più musica, no rubriche e men che meno i programmi e gli appuntamenti a cui eravamo abituati ormai da quasi sette anni. Questo non perché ci siamo stufati e abbiamo decido di mollare, anzi.
"Attraverso il sito e le nostre pagine social, abbiamo cercato di spiegare i motivi di questo black out dicendo le cose come stanno: un progetto che nasceva dalla passione di molti è stato minato alle fondamenta per questioni economiche e burocratiche da un sistema sempre troppo complicato e mai soddisfabile fino alla fine. Un sistema che colpisce radio, web radio, artisti, iniziative. Il solito mostro che non ascolta la musica, ma guarda solo ai soldi e a quanto questa musica sia in grado di nutrirlo e farlo guadagnare.
Siccome non siamo persone che si arrendono, siccome la strada fino a qui è stata dura ma incredibilmente appassionante, siccome non amiamo i piagnistei e i vittimismi, tutti noi di Sbeberz ci siamo armati per fronteggiare questo problema e far si che il silenzio della radio sia solo un semplice “trattenere il fiato”. Noi siamo arrivati fino a qui. Ci siamo messi in gioco, abbiamo ragionato, abbiamo fatto le nottate lavorando e ci abbiamo messo tutto quello che potevamo secondo le nostre possibilità economiche. Non siamo pochi e non abbiamo quindi ottenuto poco, eppure non basta ancora. Per far ripartire la macchina, per dare a Sbeberz l'ossigeno che serve, per far tornare il leone a ruggire in Italia e non solo, ci serve anche il vostro aiuto, il vostro supporto."
