Okai Samuel Tettey Antie known by his stage name O.T.A.S (pronounced OTAS), born 28th January at the korlebu teaching hospital in Accra (Ghana) to a madam Esther Coffie, a kenkey seller. Did his primary school education at the ministry of health basic school, from there to holy trinity cathedral senior high and then to Accra Academy. Later gained admission to the university of cape coast but dropped out to see to his ambition of wanting to become a musician, which has been a childhood dream. OTAS started in his music journey in his school choir (from primary level to secondary school). The love for street music (rap, ragga) brought him closer to the people and he started specializing in merging hip-hop and reggae which is popularly termed hiplife in Ghana. He began by listening to raps of favorite artist like de Game, 2pac, Eminem, Reggie Rockstone, and performing songs written by Terrybonchaka, Shaggy and Seanpaul. He did this from 2002 till 2009 when he started writing his own songs. He worked with engineers like Dannybeats, Fizzlebeatz, Nakaymix, and Vyroxbeatz. He currently works with vyroxbeatz. He uploaded a single in the year 2013 by the we were known as OTAS papa. In the year 2019 Macberry (addiberrylink) a family friend volunteered to join him and also help him to promote his music, automatically making Macberry his manager. He released Pon de rise in 2018 and the set-up album in 2019. He is set to release an ep in 2020 entitled Irie Vibration in Salento. Has done some international collaborations with names like Multiversal Jules (U.K) and Vybz Caliber from Jamaica. He is currently signed unto Tettoia records by dj Santoro (Natty Dread).
